What They Say About the FSC
WOW, what a great competition on Saturday! The WOD’s were perfectly-chosen: REALLY hard for everyone, something to favor and something to challenge every type of body…The organization of the event was fantastic and it all ran super smoothly. The judging was very fair and they were all MEGA encouraging! What a great day it was!!! Thanks so much for doing it, you guys worked harder than we did I think!
Happy Birthday Santos!

(Jennifer LaBaw) I moved to Chico, CA in June of 2010. As an avid athlete, exerciser and outdoor junkie coming from the mountains of CO, my boyfriend suggested I go check out Norcal Strength and Conditioning for a possible gym spot. The first week I joined, the trainers there suggested I compete in the “Summer Strength Challenge” at Level 10 CrossFit. I had no idea what this was, but agreed and am so glad I did. I instantly was hooked! This new found “hobby” combined two things I love – competition and exercise. Doing surprisingly well at the competition I knew that the “Fall Strength Challenge” was going to occur, so I jumped on board for that in November 2010.
After that comp, I was encouraged to up my training and go after the CrossFit Games. Clueless as to what I was diving into, in late December of 2010 I began the exciting journey of learning new skills, improving overall movement, building strength and getting out of my comfort zone in order to learn how to be a “CrossFitter”. Making it through the first round at 3rd in my region I qualified for Regionals. From regional's, I performed well enough to advance onto what I was the ultimate goal - The 2011 Reebok CrossFit Games. I was headed to Carson, CA to the Home Depot Center to compete with the “big girls” in a grueling, yet exhilarating weekend of the craziest, most intense “exercise” I had ever done. With 10 workouts in 3 days, I surprised others and myself and placed 6th overall in the world. Although, I didn't earn the title as “The Fittest Female on Earth”, I learned so much in the process, bettered myself as an athlete, and had one of the best experiences of my life.
In less than 2 months it will be time again for the “Fall Strength Challenge” to take place at Level 10 CrossFit where I made the decision last year to tackle The Games. That is where I plan to continue my training for the 2012 season. The workouts are already being created, the plans to make the event run smoothly are already being put in place, and competitors are training hard to be the best they can be come time to get out there and show Oroville, CA what they've got! Hope to meet you there and spend a day doing what we all love to do!

(Chad Augustin) "The Level 10 Strength Challenge is hands down my favorite competition! If you want to truly be challenged then this event is for you. Santos does a wicked job programming up to five workouts in a single day. The workouts offer an amazing variety of strength, endurance and sometimes just plain misery. The great part about this competition is that everyone, no matter your skill level can compete and have a great time. The event is run extremely well, the staff of coordinators and volunteers are wonderful and the competitors are top notch.
Both times I have competed at this competition I have met some amazing people and made new friends. So if you are looking to challenge yourself and most importantly have a ton of fun, then this competition is for you.
Hope to see you soon.
Chad
